Carlos Montes de Oca (B. 1968)
There is no way out, 2012
At San Carlos de la Cabaña Fortress, well known for the violent acts committed there, the artist creates a replica, a printed photo in a small light box, of the entrance of one of its vaults.
You walk in through that door attracted by “something” and cross the entire empty vault. In the end of the big corridor you’ll find darkness, the big door closed and the small light box: there is way out.
